Cancer is a very scary word to all of us. It is one of the leading causes of death year after year and despite all the money, time and effort that has been dedicated to finding a cure for it over the years, we are still not very close. We make great efforts to live a lifestyle that makes the chances of cancer occurring smaller but there are no guarantees. Fortunately, there is a lot of optimism about resveratrol, the strong antioxidant found in red wine, and its potential for stopping cancer. When it comes to resveratrol, cancer should be shaking in its boots.
Recent studies and experiments have shown that there is potential for it to be effective in three ways.
1) There is strong evidence that resveratrol can actually stop pre cancerous cells in their tracks and not only prevent them from becoming cancerous, but return them to their original form.
2) Several studies have shown very exciting results of the use of resveratrol as a natural form of chemotherapy. It has proven very effective in reducing the size of tumors for several types of cancers. There is a massive medical movement currently going on to develop a specific system of treatment with this amazing antioxidant.
3) Of course, probably its biggest effect in preventing cancer is the killing of free radicals and other cancer causing agents. Because they are unavoidable, the next best thing to not harboring them at all is to kill them off and keep the amount of cancer causing agents in our bodies to an absolute minimum.
